Pirate has changed so much in his few days of life. He is already pushed well beyond timid exploration right beside Promise, after having just positive interaction with him today, it's clear that he's ready to start some baby mule training. As tempting as it is to keep treating him like a really fun big dog, it's important to teach foals boundaries so they can be respectful as adults.
Promise had to keep up with him, Pirate is running right up to anyone who comes in to see him.
Whisper and I did a little groundwork and grooming with a stud chain in place and today she did well. I'm not sure if it was the chain (familiar from the track) or if it was just one of her good days. Leaving at dusk, Pirate was feeling frisky. Every time I turned around he was running up behind me with Promise trying to keep up.
